bands who want a free web presence but are sick of the MySpace design-hell might want to try Band Camp. Watch the explanatory video on the front page. They have excellent music-storage facilities, even allowing you to charge money for high-quality downloads, and good facilities for band information and cover-art. They lack (at this stage) the advertising, bad visual design, and social networking (friends list etc) of MySpace. I'd be interested to hear what musicians make of this site and any comparisons with SoundCloud and other new competitors in this space.
